Current E-Blast Announcements - April 26    ||     Current Newsletter   May  2021  - 5.1

Welcome to the WCB Ministry and Ministry Center

Webster-Claiborne and Bienville Associations are composed of 60 churches committed to reaching our world for Christ. The Great Commission appearing below, taken from Matthew 28:18-20, provides our orders. We seek to obey our Lord's command thus introducing our world to Jesus Christ

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20  NIV

Our churches are both different and the same. While one church is found at the end of a beautiful, winding, country lane, another is found on main street in the center of town. Some are small, others large. Some are filled with "city-folk", the others filled with "country-folk". Although different in many ways, they are all committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to bring our world to Him.

Thirty-five churches in Webster and Claiborne parishes form the Webster-Claiborne Association. Twenty-five churches in Bienville parish form the Bienville Association. While these two associations have their own officers and ministries, they also share many cooperative ministries as well. The common thread that brings these churches together is the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention. This is a voluntary giving program in which churches combine their strengths to support mission causes around the world. Together these churches support missions through the North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, Louisiana Baptist Convention, and local Associational Missions.

April 26, 2021

We are trying to reboot our Associational ministries after the 2020 Virus took out the world’s computer! Look at the events below and help us in our reboot!

Thanks to Harry Brown who helped organize our first BWC Youth Network event Sunday afternoon at Harris Camp. We had over 100 participants and were excited to see our young people engaging with each other. Tonight, April 26. at 6:30 pm, youth leaders from all our churches are welcome to meet at the Mission Center to evaluate that event and plan for the next Associational events and to encourage each other in reaching our youth.

May 1, Saturday morning, 8 am, Bienville Ministers and Executive Board Meeting at Pine Grove. This is our first meeting since Covid restrictions and we are excited about this opportunity to regroup, fellowship, encourage each other, and plan.

May 10, Monday night, 6;30 pm, The Webster-Claiborne Minister and Executive Board will meet at the Mission Center. This is our first meeting as well after the Covid shutdowns. There will be something to eat and a time of fellowship and light business.

Have you been to a Camp Harris Fish Fry? The 4th Friday of each month beginning at 5 pm you can come to Harris Camp and either order take out or eat on the grounds or in the cafeteria. We had over 100 this past Friday. They serve the best fish in the area, plate is only $10! People are excited to fellowship and walk over the camp. Put it down, join us!

We are slowly rebooting! We are tired of Covid and are ready to re-engage our world and our lives. Come join us and help us reboot our Associational ministries!

Blessings all!
Bro. Randy

April 13, 2021

We are gradually beginning to meet face to face again to plan and work together to carry on our Associational ministries.

1. We are meeting regularly with our Camp Harris leadership to plan for our summer camping season. We are also meeting with an executive team of the Harris Board to plan how to carry our camp forward into the future. We sustained damage during past storms and have some major infrastructure needs to address. As a result we have been meeting almost weekly to plan. Please pray for us as we make critical plans. We need you to begin praying now to see if your church may be able to help financially by increasing your gifts to help Harris.

2. Go to BWC Youth Network Facebook to keep up with Associational Youth Leadership Plans and Activities. (BWC Youth Network is composed of any churches within Bienville and Webster-Claiborne Baptist Associations.) Harry’O Brown is doing an excellent job coordinating our churches’ youth leaders to impact the young people in our area. We had our first planning since Covid, April 12, at the Mission Center with 15 youth directors and leaders in attendance. We will have our first event on April 25 at Camp Harris with a Fish Fry, fun activities, and a time of spiritual reflection. Bring your youth and respond to the BWC Youth Network Facebook site or to missioncenter@gmail.com if you have questions or plan on attending. The next day, April 26, the BWC Youth Leaders (youth directors and leaders from all our churches) are invited to join us at the Mission Center to evaluate our Harris event and to nail down future plans. Sign in on the BWC Youth Network page to get updates on time and other logistics. Harry’O just updated the site.

3. May 1 the Bienville Baptist Pastors and Executive Board will meet for breakfast at 8 am at PineGrove. This is the first meeting since Covid, so come and enjoy the fellowship and catch up on all that is going on among our churches. We will pass out reports, but more than anything, this will be a time to minister to each other and renew fellowship.

4. Webster-Claiborne Pastor Conference and Executive Board Meeting is scheduled for May 10, 6:30 PM at the Minden Mission and Ministry Center. Since this is our first meeting since Covid, I hope you will be able to attend. We will have a time to consider reports and business but mainly we are meeting to renew fellowship and pray for each other. A meal will be provided.

Continue to view the LouisianaBaptists.org website often. You will find many conferences and events that you can attend either in person or on line. Also, see our latest updates and newsletter at our site WCBcenter.com.

Finally, Jeanne will be having surgery and will be out of the office for the next 2-3 weeks. Please pray for her. Because of this, there may not be anyone in the office during the week. You can always contact me at 518-8297 by text or voice.

Blessings on you and your church,
Bro. Randy
