Welcome to the WCB Ministry and Ministry Center

Webster-Claiborne and Bienville Associations are composed of 60 churches committed to reaching our world for Christ. The Great Commission appearing below, taken from Matthew 28:18-20, provides our orders. We seek to obey our Lord's command thus introducing our world to Jesus Christ

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20  NIV

Our churches are both different and the same. While one church is found at the end of a beautiful, winding, country lane, another is found on main street in the center of town. Some are small, others large. Some are filled with "city-folk", the others filled with "country-folk". Although different in many ways, they are all committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to bring our world to Him.

Thirty-five churches in Webster and Claiborne parishes form the Webster-Claiborne Association. Twenty-five churches in Bienville parish form the Bienville Association. While these two associations have their own officers and ministries, they also share many cooperative ministries as well. The common thread that brings these churches together is the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention. This is a voluntary giving program in which churches combine their strengths to support mission causes around the world. Together these churches support missions through the North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, Louisiana Baptist Convention, and local Associational Missions.

Associational Meetings October 23,2022, at Camp Harris, beginning at 5:30 PM.

Did you know that our associations have been working in our area since 1895?  In 1895 Liberty Baptist Association was formed with churches mainly from Claiborne Parish. In 1922 the Webster Parish Missionary Baptist Association was formed with churches mainly from Webster Parish.  These two associations merged in 1976 to form the Webster-Claiborne Baptist Association.

The Bienville Parish Missionary Baptist Association was formed in 1925. Bienville Baptist Association has been operating as a single association since.  These associations were clustered together under one Director of Missions by the Louisiana Baptist Convention back in the day when “DOMs” were Louisiana Baptist Convention missionaries assigned to areas or regions to work.  During this era the “DOM” covered not only our two associations, but also Concord Union Associations located in and around the Ruston area.  Dr. Randy Hales was the first DOM to serve under the new cluster grouping consisting of Bienville and Webster-Claiborne Baptist Associations.  He is also the first DOM to work solely for these associations after the old Director of Missions program as state missionaries were dissolved.  He has been serving as Director of Missions since 2001.

We invite you to come share our fellowship this Sunday, October 23, at 5:30 at Camp Harris as both associations gather for business, fellowship, and worship.  Supper will begin at 5:30 with both associations meeting together in the cafeteria.  At 6 pm the group will separate into breakout sessions.  At 6:30 the associations will once again combine for joint worship and reports.

I thank God that Baptists have worked together in our area to form associations dedicated to doing big things together that no single church could do alone.  Our devotion to missions and our willingness to unify together to encourage each other and give to missions has resulted in countless lives changed not only in our area, but around the world.  Our logo proudly proclaims, “Missions & Ministry, Near & Far”.  Our logo usually appears around a globe of our world with an arrow beginning with us and then going around the world.

We have had a wonderful past.  We have been promised an exciting future as we follow our Lord.  Come and celebrate with us the Sunday at 5:30 at Camp Harris.

Attention!!!!! BWC Youth Network meeting for Sunday has been rescheduled to Nov. 6th at the La Tech BCM.

January Bible Study will be at Camp Harris on Oct. 27th 9-3.  Come early for donuts and coffee, lunch will be provided.  No cost for Bienville & Webster-Claiborne.  Book of Ephesians study guide provided.

“It’s a New Day At Camp Harris”

We reviewed our building renovations and our New Life Center Building Fund at our board meeting. Our combined goal, Concord Union Baptist Association and our area consisting of Bienville and Webster-Claiborne Baptist Associations, is to raise $600,000. Our portion of that goal is $300,000. To date we have received $173,000 from all sources to the It’s a New Day Fund. We have paid out $163,000 on the first installment on the $200,000 (plus) roof. We have $11,000 remaining in the New Life Fund. We have a $50,000 loan approved with Gibsland Bank. The roof should be finished over the next few weeks.

I encourage every church in Bienville and Webster-Claiborne to consider our 1% challenge. If every church would give 1% of your budget to our project each year for 3 years, we would easily meet our $300,000 goal. Today about a 1/3 of our combined churches have committed to give. Many gave the full amount up front rather than monthly. As a result, we have raised about 1/3 of what we need to do all the renovations planned. We need you and your church to give generously. This is your camp. Would you please consider putting the Harris Baptist Camp New Life Center Fund in your budget or ask your members to periodically give through special offerings? We need every church in Bienville and Webster-Claiborne to give. Would you talk to your leadership about joining the other churches already giving to help us reach our goal?

The Camp Harris Board is requesting you to help us raise $600,000. Webster-Claiborne and Bienville’s share is $300,000. What can you do? You can lead your church to designate 1% of your undesignated receipts to the Camp Harris Building Fund “It’s a New Day at Camp Harris” for the next 3 years. Go to WCBcenter.com for updates. Together we can do this. Individuals can give, churches can give, businesses or organizations can give. Together we can give and build for a new day. Call me if you would like me to come talk with your church or finance committee.
