IT IS A NEW DAY AT CAMP HARRIS!   ||    Current E-Blast Announcements - December 20      ||     Current Newsletter   January 2022 - NL22.1.1   ||

Welcome to the WCB Ministry and Ministry Center

Webster-Claiborne and Bienville Associations are composed of 60 churches committed to reaching our world for Christ. The Great Commission appearing below, taken from Matthew 28:18-20, provides our orders. We seek to obey our Lord's command thus introducing our world to Jesus Christ

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20  NIV

Our churches are both different and the same. While one church is found at the end of a beautiful, winding, country lane, another is found on main street in the center of town. Some are small, others large. Some are filled with "city-folk", the others filled with "country-folk". Although different in many ways, they are all committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to bring our world to Him.

Thirty-five churches in Webster and Claiborne parishes form the Webster-Claiborne Association. Twenty-five churches in Bienville parish form the Bienville Association. While these two associations have their own officers and ministries, they also share many cooperative ministries as well. The common thread that brings these churches together is the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention. This is a voluntary giving program in which churches combine their strengths to support mission causes around the world. Together these churches support missions through the North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, Louisiana Baptist Convention, and local Associational Missions.

Bienville & Webster-Claiborne Baptist Associations’
It’s a New Day at Camp Harris,
Goals vs Actual
Goal $300,000
Given to Date: $58,783.

Praise the Lord, several churches have already committed to give to the “It’s a New Day at Camp Harris” Building Fund. Thank you!

We received a challenge gift from Bistineau Baptist Church for $50,000! Pastor Richard Methvin told me when he heard about the need, his heart was moved to challenge his church to give in a big way! They definitely gave big! Bistineau wants to challenge every church to give sacrificially to our camp. They believe lives will be changed for Christ through Camp Harris.

We also received early gifts from Pine Grove, FBC Castor, New Ebenezer, and New Ramah from Bienville Association and Central, Beech Springs, Ronald Prince Sunday School Class at FBC Minden, and Rocky Springs from Webster-Claiborne Association totaling $8783. That brings us to $58,783. We have also heard from other churches that are meeting to discuss their gifts. Some will give one time gifts, some will be giving monthly. Our goal over three years is to raise $300,000 from the Bienville and Webster-Claiborne Baptist Associational churches. We have also received some gifts in memory of Shawn Kaffka from individuals.

Remember when you give, write on the memo line, “It’s a New Day at Camp Harris”. You can give through your association or direct to Camp Harris. You can make checks out to and mail to Bienville Baptist Association or to Webster-Claiborne Baptist Association at PO Box 1099, Minden, LA 71058-1099. Remember write on the memo line “It’s a New Day at Camp Harris”.

Also, if you desire to give a love offering to the Kaffka Family to aid them due to Shawn’s death, you can also give to and through your association, just write on the memo line, “Kaffka Family Love Gift”.

We are doing the books for Camp Harris through the Bienville & Webster-Claiborne Baptist Associational Office. Jeanne Wiggins, Mission Assistant, will be handling the finances. Gene Gibson will be working as our interim director splitting his office times between the Mission Center and Camp Harris Offices. If you need to contact Camp Harris, you can do so through our office at 377-3005 or to Gene’s CelL phone at 318-401-3759. You can email to the Camp through our email address at MissionCenter@gmail.com for now. We are having some difficulty right now with the Camp Harris email but hopefully we will have that corrected soon.

Merry Christmas from the Mission and Ministry Center! We will be meeting with Associational Leaders in January as we look forward to 2022. Please know that your partnership in the Gospel is appreciated and needed. Our Associations do a valuable work supporting our cooperative missions. We could not do the big things we do without the churches that give and sacrifice to see our Kingdom Ministries supported.

God bless, Merry Christmas, and may you have a blessed and happy New Year’s!
Bro. Randy

“My friends, we want you to understand how it will be for those followers who have already died. Then you won't grieve over them and be like people who don't have any hope. We believe Jesus died and was raised to life. We also believe that when God brings Jesus back again, he will bring with him all who had faith in Jesus before they died.”   1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 CEV

Shawn Kaffka, director of Camp Harris joined Jesus last week. Because of His faith and our faith we do not grieve as the world who has no hope, for our hope in eternal life with Jesus is certain. Please pray for his family and friends. Pray for the Harris Board as they continue the Harris ministry. If you would like to assist his family with a love offering make your checks to and mail to Bienville Baptist Association or to Webster-Claiborne Baptist Association and on the memo line write “Love Offering Kaffka Family”. Mail it to PO Box 1099, Minden, LA 71058-1099.

The Board had hired Gene Gibson to be the interim assistant director to assist Shawn who had been placed on medical leave. He now will be acting more as interim director. The scheduled Harris events will continue, especially the New Year’s Eve Youth event. You can contact Gene Gibson for reservations and questions about Camp Harris. His cell phone number is 318-401-3759.

Remember to receive a Lottie Moon offering this month. Over half of the International Mission budget comes from this one offering. I personally see the results of this offering in my daughter’s family in Portugal. They could not be missionaries without your support.

It’s a New Day At Camp Harris . . . The Camp Harris Board is requesting you to help us raise $600,000. Webster-Claiborne and Bienville’s share is $300,000. What can you do? You can lead your church to designate 1% of your undesignated receipts to the Camp Harris Building Fund “It’s a New Day at Camp Harris” for the next 3 years. Details can be found at WCBcenter.com. Together we can do this. Individuals can give, churches can give, businesses or organizations can give. Together we can give and build for a new day. Call me if you would like me to come talk with your church or finance committee.

Lottie Moon Week of Prayer for International Missions is this week. Please encourage your church to take up a generous offering for International Missions during the Christmas Season. Every cent of this offering finds its way to the mission field. Over half of the Mission budget comes from this one offering. I personally see the results of this offering in my daughter’s family in Portugal. They could not be missionaries without your support.

It Is A New Day at Camp Harris (Click on this link to read a letter from our Camp Harris Board) http://www.wcbcenter.com/new-day-camp-harris.html

It’s a New Day At Camp Harris . . . You will be seeing this phrase over and over again for the next few weeks. Camp Harris is looking forward to helping our churches step into a renewed experience with the Lord. In order to do this we need to make some major renovations to our camp. The cost of those major renovations will be north of $600,000. The Camp Harris Board is requesting your help to make this possible. What can you do? You can lead your church to designate 1% of your undesignated receipts to the Camp Harris Building Fund “It’s a New Day at Camp Harris” for the next 3 years.

To put this in perspective… If for the next three years …

9 churches would give $10,800 each, $3600 a year, 300 a month, we would raise $97,200
8 churches would give $8,400 each, $2800 a year, $233 a month, we would raise $67,200
7 churches would give $6,000 each, $2000 a year, $165 a month, would raise $42,000
13 churches would give $3,600 each, $1200 a year, $100 a month, would raise $46,800
15 churches would give $1,800 each, $600 a year, $50 a month, would raise $27,000
The total over three years of giving would be $280,200. Our portion added to the churches in Concord Union Association would be around $600,000.

Please read the attached link to the Camp Harris Board letter outlining our needs and the possibility of raising the funds. Together we can do this with 1% or higher of your undesignated funds. Individuals can give, churches can give, businesses or organizations can give. Together we can give and build for a new day. Call me if you would like me to come talk with your church or finance committee.
